Manx is a four piece progressive alternative rock band hailing from Chicago Illinois, formed in the spring of 2011. Its sound draws a modern feel into the classic progressive style of bands like Queen, Rush, and the Who, with a heavy influence from modern British rock bands, most notably Muse and Radiohead amongst others. With a flare for the epic, and a twist of humor, the band pushes to always outdo itself musically and technically in every piece.

Manx has always had a goal of bringing its music to as many people as possible. In their first six months, the band produced a four track demo which was offered to fans for free. Growing rapidly in the following six months, they wrote and produced their first full length album, American Universe, which was released August 3rd, 2012. A highly ambitious record by any standard, the album features piano and guitar driven rock with orchestral backings, sweeping synthesizers, and thunderous 70’s style metal riffing.

Manx’s roster of veteran musicians is composed of Chris Chamness (Guitar/Keys/Vocals), Jeff Gersch (Bass), Jason Sheppard (Vocals/Guitar/Keys), and Neil Kissack (The Artist Formerly Known as Neil Dean/Drums). Music, videos, and tour schedules are available at their official website, To promote the record, the band toured the Midwest playing in cities such as Chicago, Memphis, Indianapolis, and St. Louis.  The band is currently working to advance to the next stage of their career by playing shows, promoting their album, and writing new material.
